About Acting Coach Scotland (ACS)

Established in 2008, Acting Coach Scotland (ACS) has grown to become a leading institution for professional acting training in Glasgow. Located in the vibrant Govan Workspace, ACS is a Community Interest Company (CIC) our mission is to provide innovative, intensive training for aspiring actors across Scotland and beyond.At ACS, we pride ourselves on being a fun, friendly and highly professional environment that helps people achieve their goals of gaining confidence, boosting skills, developing excellence and entering the acting profession. ACS is approved by Education Scotland and the Scottish Qualifications Authority (SQA).

Our Philosophy

At ACS, we cover the major practiotioners, but we specialise in Practical Aesthetics, a highly effective and straightforward acting technique developed by David Mamet and William H. Macy. This approach helps actors deliver authentic, compelling performances by focusing on clarity, purpose, and action. We’re the only Acting School in the UK that makes this moderm approach a core part of our training, and the only other school in Europe- along with Armando Di Lillo’s International Acting Studio - that specialises in it.

We believe in creating confident, skilled, and adaptable performers, offering a dynamic learning environment where practical experience is at the heart of every course.

Our Full-Time Courses

We offer a range of full-time acting courses designed to prepare students for the demands of the professional industry:

2-Year Intensive Stage and Screen Acting Course

Incorporating the HND in Acting and Performance, this course is recognised by Spotlight, the industry’s leading casting platform. Over two years, students develop the tools and confidence to work professionally in film, television, and theatre.

1-Year Professional Diploma in Stage and Screen Performance

Our bespoke diploma is also Spotlight-approved, offering a fast-track route into the industry. This intensive programme combines everything you need to know to work professionally after a year’s hard word.

HNC Foundation Course

A perfect starting point for those new to professional training, this 1-year HNC in Acting and Performance provides students with a strong foundation in acting technique, voice work, and performance. This course is ideal for those looking to develop their skills before progressing onto top Drama School courses around the UK.
